Growth and Academic Projects

The College Years

During my time in college, I worked on a variety of subjects related to business, language, and culture. It enabled me to sharpen my professional writing and marketing skills as well as increase my business acumen. I learned that while sales are important, focusing on the bottom line is crucial to successful business operations.

Some of my top classes were:

  • International Marketing
  • Chinese Culture and Civilization
  • Survey of Eastern Religions
  • International Management
  • Advanced Topics in Marketing: Search Engine Optimization
  • Inquiry and Innovative Design Thinking

Overall, I graduated with 83 credits with international focus and of those, 42 were focused on China specifically. If you’d like to see what other classes I took as part of my studies, see my final UVU transcript.

As mentioned on the home page, I’m dedicated to life-long learning. If you or your company has a need, I am happy to jump right in and learn new software, skills, and more to help you reach your goals!

Academic Work

Here are a few of the projects I worked on at UVU.

Marketing

SEO Audit of Doctors Without Borders

This was my first comprehensive SEO site audit, ever. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and was pretty happy with the results I achieved on the Final “Exam:” 204 of 210. I’ve included an explanation on the document for points docked.

MKTG 335G Final Project

Six classmates were assigned to this project, but Hyon Yang and I did about 90% of the work on this project (and one other, I forget his name, did a third of the final project), so it ended up being a bit more of a challenge (and reward) to separate such a large task over the entire Fall 2022 semester.

Language and Culture

My Chinese Three Pillars Essay

This essay was written for CHIN 351G (Chinese Civilization and Culture) and compares Western philosophy and religious thought with Eastern (but mostly China’s).

Spanish Translation of My Confucianism Essay

Since I didn’t have any essays in Spanish and I wanted to showcase my skills as a translator as well, I decided to translate this essay on Confucianism I wrote for CHIN 351G.

Passion Projects

In my spare time, I’ve been working on this website, a business, and side projects that I’ve linked below (note that while I’ve done many more than these, I’ve decided these highlight my skill well).

Excel Budget Template

I learned a great deal about Excel in school (both high school and college). While I initially made this spreadsheet to keep my household expenses, what better way to showcase my skill with Excel while giving away a free, easy-to-use spreadsheet?

SEO Optimized Article on Language Learning

I’ve always believed that language learning is more accessible to people than they realize or believe. As a result, I decided to write this article for those who are considering it still. I also optimized it for better visibility (I hope more people can be inspired to learn a language).
